Tree Downs Wires, Closes Wilton Road: Police

WILTON, CT — McFadden Drive is closed after a fallen tree brought down utility wires, according to Wilton police.

Police announced the closure Monday, saying the roadway will remain closed while crews work to clear the tree and repair the damaged wires.

"Well... that escalated quickly," the department wrote in a social media post. "One tree turned into about a million pieces, took the wires with it, and called it a day."

Drivers are asked to avoid the area until the road reopens.

Police did not provide an estimated reopening time.
