WILTON, CT — As Wilton students head back to class for the 2026-27 school year, Wilton High School has been named one of Connecticut's top public high schools in U.S. News & World Report's latest Best High Schools rankings.
Wilton High School ranked No. 7 in Connecticut and No. 300 nationally in the 2026-27 rankings.
The rankings, released Aug. 18, include nearly 18,000 public high schools nationwide. Overall, 200 Connecticut high schools were included, with 85 ranking among the top 25 percent nationally.
U.S. News evaluated schools using six measures of student achievement and college readiness, including college-level exam performance, college curriculum breadth, state assessment proficiency and performance, outcomes among underserved students and graduation rates.
Wilton was one of several Fairfield County schools to dominate the top of Connecticut's rankings. Greenwich High School ranked No. 2 in the state, followed by Weston High School at No. 3, Darien High School at No. 4, Staples High School in Westport at No. 5 and New Canaan High School at No. 6.
Wilton High also moved slightly from last year's ranking: it was No. 5 in Connecticut in the 2025-26 rankings, while its national ranking remained No. 300.
