Crosby: Wilton Security Task Force Focused on School Security
Wilton Police Chief Robert Crosby gives an update on the Wilton Security Task Force.

From Wilton Police Chief and Security Task Force Chair Robert Crosby
The Wilton Security Task Force remains focused on security issues affecting Wilton schools. Many of the Task Force’s initial recommendations have been implemented, including the new secure entrance at the High School, as well as “hardening” of windows in the schools. Several others are in the works including additional physical security enhancements at all schools as well as an improved energy communications system within the schools and with Wilton Police.
The Task Force has been meeting for two and a half years and our members bring a wide depth of experience and skills. From our schools, we have Dr. Kevin Smith, Jory Higgins, Ken Post, Roseann DeSimone and John Murphy. John Logan has a United Nations Security background, John Suchy has a law enforcement background and Selectwoman Deborah McFadden brings the Board of Selectmen point of view. My co-chair, Terrie Schwartz’s background includes leadership positions in the FBI and Homeland Security and I bring 32 years extensive police experience here in Wilton. Our entire team continues to be focused on the security needs of Wilton schools.

We want out town to understand that the task force is still at work and additional actions will be taken as we remain focused both on evaluating appropriate and pragmatic measures that will keep our schools and our children safe in their learning environments.
