DUI Charge for Man Speeding, Swerving in Wilton

WILTON, CT - A Danbury man is facing a DUI charge in Wilton.

According to police, Devang Patel, 27, was stopped for failure to stay in his lane and traveling 62 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone on Dec. 3 around 8 p.m. Patel was stopped in the area of Danbury Road and Olmstead Hill Road.

Police found that he was driving with a suspended license and under the influence. A small amount of marijuana was recovered from his car.

Patel was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, speeding and operating with a suspended license. He was released on a promise to appear in court Dec. 14.
