Funeral Arrangements Announced for Late Firefighter and Veteran Phillip Reeves

A 'very large crowd' is expected for the funeral services of a man who was widely respected in the Wilton community.

WILTON, CT — A beloved member of the Wilton community will be laid to rest Saturday after losing his battle with cancer on Feb. 7

Longtime resident Phillip Reeves, 57, was a widely respected member of the community and a longtime resident. He was a member of the Wilton Volunteer Fire Department, and served as a professional firefighter in Westport and Bridgeport.

He also joined the U.S. Army and earned his wings as an army aviator.

According to an announcement from the Westport Fire Department, a large crowd is expected to attend his funeral services Saturday at St. Matthew's Church on New Canaan Road. The procession will depart from the Collins Funeral Home in Norwalk at 10:30 a.m. and arrive at the church at 10:50 a.m.

The procession will have an escort provided by Norwalk and Wilton police, and will pas beneath a large American flag suspended over New Canaan Road.

The ceremony will feature a 21 gun solute followed by the presentation of the folded casket flag to Reeves' wife Robyn.
