Housatonic Habitat Executive Director meets with Wilton Rotary
Discussion on Habitat Housing Model and Other Projects

"We are both a builder and a bank" Fran Normann, Executive Director of Housatonic Habitat for Humanity, told the members of the Wilton Rotary Club at a recent meeting at Marly's Restaurant. Normann talked about the Habitat model of building homes for underserved first-time home buyers and underwriting a 0% Habitat-held mortgage to make homeownership a reality. Housatonic Habitat, founded in Ridgefield in 1991, is currently building two homes in New Milford.
In addition to its construction, Normann also provided an overview of the affiliates other projects including its Brush with Kindness repair services and its ReStore, a 10,000 Sq. Ft. thrift warehouse. Wilton is part of the Housatonic Habitat service area and Habitat has received financial support from the town's religious community.
Housatonic Habitat for Humanity focuses on making a meaningful difference in the lives of qualified working families by promoting financial stability and self-sufficiency through ownership of affordable homes. By providing decent, affordable, safe housing to qualified regional families, Housatonic Habitat contributes to community revitalization in the greater Danbury region by creating homes that can transform a street and neighborhood and add value to the community.
