Over 4,000 Homes Still Without Power In Wilton
Eversource officials said it expects to restore power in Wilton late Tuesday night.
WILTON, CT — As of 11:30 pm Saturday, the town still has 4,404 homes without power or 58 percent, according to the latest numbers from Eversource.
In a report released Saturday, the utility is pledging to have the town's lights back on by Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 11:59 p.m.
First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice reported that 27 tree blocked roads/road sections remain, down from 99.

"Clearing, when wires are involved, requires a tree crew, linemen and DPW. Clearing is continuing throughout tonight. Today, clearing work was hastened by advance crews moving wires and removing branches," Vanderslice said.

Both AT&T and Verizon cell service are working in town, Vanderslice said, and new Verizon cell equipment was installed in Wilton Center.
The town is providing WiFi connectivity to the internet outside Town Hall and the High School Field House. The password is Warrior1, with a capital W. WiFi is also available inside Comstock this weekend from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weeknights open from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sign up through e-trak or call 203-834-6234 before 4:30 pm or visit Comstock. Walk-ins are accepted if there is availability. COVID protocols will be in place.
Potable water distribution capabilities at Fire Headquarters have increased. Distribution is now from the non-Town Hall side of the building is available 24/7.
