Police Advise Regarding Latest Door-To-Door Solicitors

The non-profit organization Citizens Campaign for the Environment will be canvassing neighborhoods in Wilton.

WILTON, CT -- Police are advising residents that the non-profit organization Citizens Campaign for the Environment will be going door-to-door throughout the town this week.

Representatives of the group, which "works to identify key environmental concerns in communities" according to their website, will be in neighborhoods from 4-9 p.m. on weekdays. Residents who request the reps to return later in the evening can expect to be visited from 8-9 p.m.

"During the later hours, volunteers will also collect letters that people have written to public officials,” police said in a release.

Unlike the door-to-door pest control salespeople who caused an outcry in the town earlier this year, the CCE reps will have their official identification on them, and the Police Department has a list of the membership canvassing in Town.
