Police: Wilton Teen Driving Without Instructor, Also in Possession of Marijuana

The teen who had a learner's permit was also in violation of curfew restrictions.

A Wilton juvenile found to be driving with a learner’s permit and without a qualified instructor was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

According to police, a vehicle was stopped for traveling in the center of town without lights on April 4 at around 1:45 a.m.

The 16-year-old driver was driving with a learner’s permit without a qualified instructor, police said. He was also in violation of curfew restrictions imposed on teen drivers.

According to police, based on the strong odor of marijuana, a search of the vehicle ensued and marijuana along with paraphernalia were found in the car.

The juvenile who faces possession of marijuana/paraphernalia and motor vehicle charges was referred to the school resource officer for a follow up of the case.
