Say What? Wilton High School Under Fire for Basketball Game Chant
What *exactly* is the crowd yelling?
WILTON, CT — A controversy broke out on the basketball court and online over the weekend following a chant that erupted from fans at Wilton High School.
Twitter users were split over whether the students are yelling "black face," or "Leg Days." The latter is a reference to the regular gym regimen intended to bulk up an athlete's legs.
The chant came near the end of the first half of the quarter-finals game between Wilton and New Britain High Schools on Friday night.

The New Britain coach tweeted the video clip to CNN and a sports writer at Hearst Media, asking them to "Please listen to what Wilton High School’s student section chanted to our team." Others in the Twittersphere jumped in and sent the clip and its attendant controversy to additional news and entertainment outlets, including ESPN, The Ellen Show, and The Onion.
Wilton High School officials will be writing a letter of apology to New Britain High School administrators, Hearst Media is reporting.
