Two Facing Drugs, Weapons Charges in Wilton

Police found the items in the car after a search.

Two Stamford men are facing charges after police found drugs and weapons in their car.

According to police, a car was stopped early Saturday morning for traveling without the lights on in the area of Danbury Road and Old Mill Road. Police said they smelled marijuana after making contact with the car.

Police searched the vehicle and found marijuana, narcotics, a pistol with a large capacity magazine and brass knuckles.

Tarquis Andino, 20, of Stamford admitted to owning the pistol. He was charged with criminal possession of a pistol and carrying without a permit. Andino was released after posting bail and is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 1.

Richard Desmond, 23, of Stamford was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of a dangerous weapon. He was also found to have a pending arrest warrant for violation of probation. Desmond was held on a $40,000 bond and was expected to appear in court Nov. 23.
