WEATHER UPDATE: Heavy Rain, Fog, and Wind Forecast for Wilton

After a glorious weekend of weather, which brought bright sunshine both days, and 70 degrees on Saturday, it’s back to reality today.

We’ll be dealing with heavy rain, which we need, and fog for most of Monday and Monday evening. Gusty winds as high as 28 mph are expected during the day. A short term hazardous weather forecast is also in effect for Wilton.

During the day today we could receive up to an inch of rain with temperatures hovering in the high 40s to mid 50s, another big change from this past weekend.

Rain will continue Monday night and up to another half inch of rain is possible before it ends early Tuesday. There is also the possibility of a thunderstorm later tonight. The temperature rebounds on Tuesday as cloudy skies turn partly sunny in the afternoon and we could hit 70 degrees again.

More rain showers are possible Wednesday, followed by sunny skies Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Each day the temps are forecast to be in the low to mid-50s.

• Today: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Patchy fog. High near 56. East wind 9 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
• Tonight: A chance of showers, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 11pm. Areas of fog. Low around 49. Southeast wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 66. West wind 8 to 11 mph.
• Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 43. West wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light southwest.
• Wednesday: A chance of showers after noon. Increasing clouds, with a high near 62. Southwest wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Wednesday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
• Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 56.
• Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35.
• Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 56.
• Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38.
