Wilton Ice Cream Shop Surprises Vets on Memorial Day
All gave some, some gave all. Grace Farrell made sure they got free ice cream...

WILTON, CT — Grace Farrell, a junior at Wilton High School, didn't believe that military veterans who had risked their lives fighting for their country should have to pay for ice cream on Memorial Day.
Fortunately, she was in a position to do something about it.
In addition to being a student, Farrell also works at Scoops of Wilton, an ice cream shop and confectionery located at 92 Old Ridgefield Road. When she suggested to Scoops' owners, Meghan and Kevin Wall, that they sponsor free ice cream cones for all vets on Memorial Day to thank them for their sacrifice, the proprietors thought it was a sweet idea.

Next stop was the Kiwanis Club's annual pre-parade pancake breakfast, where Farrell handed out flyers informing the veterans of their good fortune, and the Walls' generosity.
