Wilton PD to Host Citizen Police Academy

Academy participants will gain insight into how the police department works and provides services to the community.

WILTON, CT — The Wilton Police will be hosting a Citizen Police Academy to educate participants about various aspects of police work. Participants will gain insight into how the police department

works and provides services to the community.

The goal is to connect the community and the police by teaching about crime scene investigation,
firearms, TASER, speed enforcement, DUI., K9 Unit, Emergency Response Team, Scuba
Team, as well as many other aspects of policing. Participants will also learn about the
department’s history.

The academy begins on September 12 and will meet every Thursday night from 6:30 –
9:00 p.m. The academy will run for 8 weeks and classes will be held at Wilton Police
Headquarters, 240 Danbury Road, Wilton.

Applicants must be a minimum of eighteen years old and live or work in the Town of Wilton.
