Wilton Powerball Winner is Still a No-Show
Two weeks after a $1 million ticket was sold in Wilton, and no one has stepped forward.

WILTON, CT --- As of Monday, May 14, no one has laid claim to that $1 million Powerball® -winning ticket sold two weeks ago in Wilton.
One lucky ticket purchased at Georgetown Shell at 912 Danbury Road matched the first five numbers drawn Wednesday, May 2, for the $1 million prize.
The winning numbers for May 2 were: 5 – 14 – 31 – 40 – 50. The Powerball number was 6, and the Power Play multiplier number was 2. In total, 11,107 winning Powerball tickets were sold statewide for that date, with prizes ranging from $4 to $1,000,000.

It's that last one that has everyone rummaging through their trouser pockets, though. The winner has until October 29 to come forward and claim the prize before the ticket expires. The awards for winning lottery tickets are held for 180 days, after which the money becomes part of the state coffers.
Other pending expiration dates for unclaimed awards include: August 18, for a $25,000 a year for life tick sold at Brazil Legal LLC at 414 West Main St. in Stamford from the Feb. 18 drawing; and September 26, for a $100,000 Cash 5 ticket sold at Merritt Country Store, 337 Main St. in Westport from the March 30 drawing.
