Woman on Moped Charged with DUI in Wilton

A Norwalk woman was charged with a DUI after police was notified of a car driving in an erratic manner in the area of Westport Road and Clover Drive in Wilton.

According to police at around 5:52 p.m. on May 3, a caller reported a moped swerving over the double-yellow lines into oncoming traffic. The vehicle was observed traveling north on Westport Road and subsequently stopped.

The operator, later identified as Silvana Gerrish, 34 was unable to produce her driver’s license, police said. She was was asked to perform standard field sobriety tests, which she did not perform to standard.

Gerrish was charged with driving under the influence and operating without a license.

She was released on a promise to appear in court May 14.
