• Killingly man admits to stealing $775K from nonprofits (wtnh.com) — A former executive director of Holy Family Home & Shelter in Windham has admitted stealing more than $734,000 from the organization, part of over $775,000 taken from two nonprofits. Federal prosecutors say he used unauthorized transfers, debit card purchases, and checks, and now faces sentencing in December while agreeing to pay full restitution.
• In Memoriam: Sister Anne Marie Berthiaume, DHS (norwichdiocese.org) — A longtime Daughter of the Holy Spirit has died at St. Joseph Living Center in Windham at age 91, after decades of ministry in Connecticut, Vermont, Chile, and California. Local residents can pay their respects Saturday, Sept. 12, at Corpus Christi Parish/St. Joseph Church in Willimantic, with burial that afternoon at St. Mary Cemetery in Putnam.
