Amazon Donates Over 300 Dr. Seuss Classics to Poquonock School to Celebrate Author's Birthday
Surprise visit to celebrate National Reading Month and commemorate the beloved author
To celebrate National Reading Month and Dr. Seuss’ birthday, Amazon surprised students, teachers and staff at Windsor, Connecticut’s Poquonock Elementary School on Wednesday with a birthday party for the beloved author. The surprise included balloons and a special gift for all 300 students to take home - a hardback copy of a Dr. Seuss classic!
The celebration concluded with a read-along featuring Eric Powell, General Manager of the Amazon Windsor Fulfillment Center. Also in attendance, Superintendent Dr. Craig Cooke, Windsor Mayor Donald Trinks, Board of Education President Cristina Santos and Director of Arts and Humanities Bonnie Fineman.
