WINDSOR, CT — A home was heavily damaged in a fire on Pleasant Street in Windsor on Monday morning, according to officials.
Crews responded to the fire around 11 a.m.
FOX 61 reports the intense conditions inside the house made it difficult for firefighters to get in immediately.
The South Windsor Fire Department also responded for mutual aid, according to a post on Facebook.
The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the homeowner who was displaced after the fire.
“The Red Cross also provided a recovery envelope containing information helpful to families recovering from a fire, including tips on cleanup; notification of important contacts; dealing with damaged items and more,” officials wrote in a news release. “The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a resident might need when suddenly displaced from their home by a fire.”
