Windsor EMS Mourns Paramedic’s Son

The family was far from home when their son entered hospice care and later died.

WINDSOR, CT — Windsor Emergency Medical Services is asking the community to support paramedic Mike Glazier and his family after the death of Glazier's son, JD, during a family vacation in Florida.

The department said JD entered hospice care last week. In a subsequent update, Windsor EMS said he had died.

Glazier's colleagues said the family is far from its Connecticut support system and is facing medical expenses, extended travel and lodging costs, as well as the costs of bringing JD home and making final arrangements.

A GoFundMe fundraiser, organized by Brianne Eichler and co-organized by Glazier, is seeking $25,000. As of Monday afternoon, it had raised $3,305 through 49 donations.

Windsor EMS encouraged people who are unable to donate to share the fundraiser and keep the Glazier family in their thoughts.
