Body Recovered from Connecticut River Near Windsor

The male body was discovered on a sandbar north of a Windsor boat launch, police said.

WINDSOR, CT - Firefighters and police divers recovered the body of a man on a sandbar in the Connecticut River Friday morning.

The unidentified man's body was discovered north of the East Barber Street boat launch, and was removed by firefighters from Windsor and Hartford dive team members, Capt. Tom LePore said.

LePore said he believes the man had jumped off a bridge in Massachusetts nearly a week ago.
