Campus Notes - Windsor College Students

WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

American International College, Springfield MA

• Devonte' Dillion of Windsor was named to the Northeast-10 Football All-Conference Defense First Team for the 2017 football season. The NE-10 named the best 16 defensive players to the team recognizing their successful regular seasons. Dillion is a senior communication major.

Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven CT

• Southern Connecticut State University men's track and field coach John Wallin has announced that Tikuan Johnson and Brian Sappleton, both of Windsor, will be among five student-athletes who will serve as team captains for the upcoming 2017-18 season. Johnson is coming off a decorated campaign that saw him finish as a NCAA qualifier during the indoor season. He was also All-Region in the 200 meters indoors and the 100 meters, 200 meters and 4x100 relay outdoors and All-New England in the 100 and 200 meters outdoors. Johnson was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer of the NE10 Outdoor Championships and was a NE10 Champion in the 200 meters indoors and the 4x100 relay, 100 meters and 200 meters outdoors. Sappleton was All-Region in the 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay outdoors during the 2016-17 campaign. In addition, he was also All-New England in the 4x400 relay indoors and a NE10 Champion in the 4x100 relay outdoors.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

• Christopher Wilke of Windsor graduated from Western New England University with a Master of Science in Engineering Management on October 15, 2017.
