WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Assumption College, Worcester MA

  • Assumption College has announced that Cameron Young, of Windsor, is one of 590 students named to the College's prestigious undergraduate Dean's List for the spring 2018 semester. Young is a member of the Class of 2019. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Assumption students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester. The Dean's List is announced twice per academic year, once at the completion of the fall semester, and again at the completion of the spring semester.

Curry College, Milton MA

  • Curry College is proud to announce that Shawn Thompson of Windsor has been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2018 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must earn a 3.30 GPA, have no incompletes, and have no grade lower than a "C" for the semester.

St. John's University, Queens NY

  • Sophia Rubino of Windsor made the Dean's List at St. John's University for the spring 2018 semester.

University of Scranton, Scranton PA

  • Rachel C. Poirier of Windsor was among more than 890 bachelor's and associate's degrees at its undergraduate commencement on May 27 at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre. Poirier earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and philosophy.
  • Saralynne H. Brown of Windsor was among nearly 600 master's and doctoral degree recipients at its graduate commencement ceremony on May 26 in the Byron Recreation Complex. Graduates recognized at the ceremony include those who completed their degree requirements in August and December of 2017, as well as January and May of 2018. Brown earned a Master of Health Administration degree in health administration.
