Clover Street School Students to be Published in Creative Communication's Celebration of Young Poets
Clover Street School receives a Poetic Achievement Award recognizing the "exceptionally high merit" of the student work
Creative Communication’s Young Student Writing Contest has announced the names of poets to be published in their Fall 2015 edition of Celebration of Young Poets. Eight Clover Street students, from 4th and 5th grades, were selected for this honor including Jason Grant, Aries Newton-Campbell, Tianna Morris, Frank Kula, Evan Roche, Guineviere Keeler, Haillee Roof, and Isaiah Sperry.
In addition, Clover Street School received a Poetic Achievement Award certificate recognizing the “exceptionally high merit” of the student work submitted from the school.
Poetry has become an important part of Clover Street School. The Challenge Resource Program provides classroom workshops, coordinates artists-in-residence, and an Annual Poetry SLAM. Poets’ Corner has become a staple of Clover’s Afternoon Broadcast, during which children in the school community share their original poetry with the whole school audience.
