Coleman Beats Wooden in 2nd District State Senate Primary
Coleman wins his challenge over the Democratic-endorsed candidate, will have the opportunity to serve 11th term representing the district.

Longtime State Senator Eric Coleman held off a challenge from Shawn Wooden to win a hard-fought Democratic Party election for the 2nd Senate District and will now have the opportunity to serve an 11th term representing the district.
Wooden, who received the party’s endorsement in the May state convention, told the Hartford Courant that it was always going to be a “tough fight.”
“I’m very proud of the campaign that we ran,” Wooden told the Courant. “We talked about the issues, the future of the district. (Coleman) and I will work together for the community. We’re committed to the community.”
