Central Connecticut State University, New Britain CT

  • Central Connecticut State University selected five students to receive President’s Citation Awards. The President’s Citation is presented annually to outstanding seniors nominated by faculty and staff and selected by the President’s Office for their leadership on campus, volunteerism, and academic success. Trinitee Williams of Windsor, a Strategic Communications major, has been supporting her fellow students since her freshman year. She served as a program coordinator and facilitator for the Women’s Center; she has welcomed dozens of students to campus as an orientation leader and resident assistant; managed public relations for the Black Student Union; and volunteered for the Girls and STEM program.

Curry College, Milton MA

  • Curry College welcomed Cassidee McDonnell of Windsor into the Alexander Graham Bell Honor Society. The objective of the Alexander Graham Bell (AGB) Honor Society is to promote and recognize academic excellence at Curry College. The Society is named for the famous inventor, Alexander Graham Bell, who was an early chancellor at Curry College. It was founded in 1971 to recognize and promote academic excellence through a variety of activities at Curry. The Alexander Graham Bell Honor Society is one of Curry's most distinguished organizations. Membership in the Society is limited to those students who have achieved Dean's List every semester while enrolled at Curry College.

Grove City College, Grove City PA

  • Liza Kearney, a Management major from Windsor, has been named to the Dean's List with Distinction for the spring 2022 semester. Liza is a 2020 graduate of Cornerstone Christian School and is the daughter of Catherine and Thomas Kearney. Students eligible for the Dean's List have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59; for the Dean's List with Distinction a GPA of 3.60 to 3.84 and for the Dean's List with High Distinction a GPA of 3.85 to 4.0.

  • Sabrina Crispim, a recent Lasell University graduate from Windsor, was honored with an undergraduate book award during the University's commencement weekend activities. Crispim received an Academic Book Award in Criminal Justice for their demonstrated commitment to excellence at the University. Only one recipient per academic major is selected each year. Recipients are selected by faculty for serving as models for their fellow students in professional demeanor, academic achievement, maturity, perseverance, and collegiality. She also was inducted into Alpha Phi Sigma, the national criminal justice honor society.

Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester NH

  • Three students from Windsor were named to the winter 2022 President's List. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above are named to the President's List. Honorees from Windsor were James Ersando, Monique Gray and Melissa Hall.
  • Malik Yarde and Margaret Stone, both of Windsor, were named to the winter 2022 Dean's List. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 are named to the Dean's List.

University of Saint Joseph, West Hartford CT

  • Tyesha Batchelor of Windsor was among the Family Nurse Practitioner graduates honored by the University of Saint Joseph's Department of Nursing at its Graduate Nursing Hooding and Awards Ceremony.
  • The University of Saint Joseph's School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling programs celebrated the accomplishments of the 2022 graduating cohort with hooding, flowers, and balloons. Among those honored were Windsor residents Jamarah Barnaby-Anderson, M.A. School Counseling, and Savannah Slowik, M.A. Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
  • On May 10, the University of Saint Joseph School of Social Work & Equitable Community Practice celebrated the accomplishments of the 2022 Master of Social Work Graduating class with a hooding ceremony. The history of hooding ceremonies dates back many years, but this was USJ's third annual hooding ceremony. Alexus Beckford and Araceli Chavez, both of Windsor, were honored in the ceremony.
  • The University of Saint Joseph's Department of Nursing held its Undergraduate Nursing Award and Pinning Ceremony on May 13. The event included a welcome from Chair of the department of Nursing, Janet Knecht, Ph.D., and greetings from USJ President Free, along with a blessing of the hands. Tamar Duquette and Shaela Young Haskins, both of Windsor, were among the seniors graduating with a degree in Nursing.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

  • Malvina Piziak of Windsor, who majored in Psychological Science and Business, was bestowed a bachelor's degree at WPI's 153rd commencement on May 14. Nearly 1,200 undergraduate degrees were awarded during the university's 153rd commencement ceremony. This undergraduate ceremony marked the first time the entire class and their family and friends were able to gather together for an in-person ceremony since 2019.
