Fairfield's Jonathan L. Green, CFSP, CPC, CCSP, is Elected President of CT Funeral Directors Association

Green is a licensed funeral director/embalmer at Abraham L. Green & Son Funeral Home in Fairfield

Jonathan L. Green, CFSP, CPC, CCSP, is the new President of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association (CFDA). Green, who chairs CFDA’s Legislative Committee, most recently was the association’s 2025 Vice President, and has served on its Executive Committee for the past five years. He was elected as 2026 President at the CFDA’s Annual Meeting and Convention in December.

Green is a licensed funeral director/embalmer at Abraham L. Green & Son Funeral Home in Fairfield, where he works with his father, Samuel A. Green, also is a licensed funeral director/embalmer. The funeral home was founded in 1948 by his grandfather, Abraham L. Green.

Green became a licensed funeral director/embalmer in 2013 after receiving his professional schooling from American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York City, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Green is recognized as a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) through the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. He is a CPC (Certified Planning Consultant) from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), making him qualified to help families plan appropriate and customized services, manage funding options and ensure consumer protection for the families he serves. He also holds a CCSP (Certified Cremation Services Provider) designation from NFDA. Green received a Bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College in New York and attended graduate school at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. He also is a former licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).

Green lives in Fairfield, Conn. with his wife, Emily. He is President of KAVOD – The National Independent Jewish Funeral Chapels, and is President of the Men’s Club at Mozaic Senior Life in Bridgeport, Conn. He is a member of Congregation B’nai Israel and Congregation Rodeph Sholom, both in Bridgeport.

The 137-year-old Connecticut Funeral Directors Association is comprised of funeral directors at more than 220 funeral homes.
