Female Pedestrian Struck, Killed On I-91 in Windsor

WINDSOR, CT — State police are seeking witnesses to a collision on Interstate 91 early Thursday evening which claimed the life of a female pedestrian.

Around 6:48 p.m., troopers from Troop H in Hartford responded to the southbound side of the highway near exit 35 in Windsor for a crash involving a tractor trailer and a pedestrian. Upon arrival, troopers found a juvenile female pedestrian suffering from life-threatening injuries after being struck by the truck, police said.

The girl was transported to Hartford Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, police said.

Anyone who thinks they may have witnessed the crash, may have seen the girl on the highway prior to the crash, may have seen the movement of the tractor trailer prior to the crash or may have any information is asked to contact Troop H at 860-534-1000.
