Chain’s Last Connecticut Restaurant Closes In Windsor
The co-branded Day Hill Road restaurant also was Connecticut's last Surf City Squeeze.
WINDSOR, CT — Connecticut’s last Blimpie location has closed in Windsor, ending the sandwich chain’s presence in the state.
The co-branded Blimpie and Surf City Squeeze at 1001 Day Hill Road has permanently closed, according to a closure notice posted at the restaurant and reported Saturday by The Connecticut Scoop.
The shop also was the last Connecticut location for Surf City Squeeze, according to the chains’ online location directories. No exact closing date was included on the notice.

The message thanked customers for their support and directed them to other Blimpie and Surf City Squeeze locations.
As of Sunday, however, the Blimpie and Surf City Squeeze webpages for the Windsor storefront still list it as “Temporary Closed” and display its former business hours.

The restaurant’s equipment and other contents are being sold through an online liquidation auction.
