As the CT Paid Leave begins to roll out, it is important that as an employer, sole proprietor/self-employed individual, or a worker in Connecticut, you know what to expect from this new program. For employers and sole proprietor/self-employed individuals, the business registration process begins in November. For Connecticut workers, payroll deductions of one-half of one percent (0.5%) begin in 2021. These deductions will be used to fund paid leave benefit payments, which become available to covered employees in 2022.
