This Friday, May 15 at 6:45 p.m., everyone is invited join Temple Beth Hillel of South Windsor for a special online evening Shabbat service. Internationally renowned Jewish musician Dan Nichols will join his longtime friend, Cantor Scott Harris, for the opening Kabbalat Shabbat.
"We are honored that Dan will celebrate Shabbat on line with our congregation and everyone else who wants to join us," says Cantor Scott Harris of Temple Beth Hillel. "Dan is one of the most dynamic and beloved Jewish musicians in North America. His melodies have become an integral part of the spiritual and liturgical experience of Temple Beth Hillel's congregation and religious school, as well as The Union for Reform Judaism's (URJ) camps around the nation, and they convey a positive message of Jewish values, identity and pride."

"Kabbalat Shabbat means 'welcoming the Sabbath'," explains Temple Beth Hillel's Rabbi Jeffrey Glickman. "It is a beautiful musical service that precedes the Friday Sabbath evening service, and it begins just before sundown at the end of the day on Friday. Everyone can 'join us' at no cost this Friday evening, and at any of our religious events including our Friday and Saturday Shabbat services."
