Kelly Educational Staffing Names Substitute Teacher of the Year
KES Marks National Teacher Appreciation Day By Honoring Windsor High School Substitute Teacher Michelle Pendleton
National Teacher Appreciation Day serves as a reminder to schools, parents and the community to honor and appreciate the daily contributions teachers make to students’ lives. In celebration, Michelle Pendleton has been selected by Kelly Educational Staffing (KES®), a specialty service of Kelly Services®, as the “Connecticut Substitute Teacher of the Year” for the 2017-18 school year. Michelle Pendleton, a substitute teacher at Windsor High School, in the Windsor School District, is being recognized for outstanding performance and service as a KES substitute teacher.
KES field managers have nominated employees across the U.S. for this honor. Eligible substitute teachers need to have strong performance records in addition to being recommended by school leaders. As a state winner, Mrs. Pendleton was honored at a special recognition ceremony and presented with a bonus through the Kelly Kudos award program. The local Kelly team announced the award in a ceremony at WHS, together with Superintendent Craig Cooke, Dr. Terrell Hill and Human Resources staff, Principal Oyunde and his WHS leadership team.
“Substitute teachers work incredibly hard to ensure students are gaining the skills, knowledge and confidence to be successful in school and beyond,” said Eileen Candels, Vice President for KES in Greater Hartford and Springfield regions. “We want to honor our substitute teachers by recognizing their exemplary performance through our annual awards program. This is a unique opportunity to show our appreciation for the positive impact they have made in educational communities across the country. We are so grateful and proud of Michelle’s many contributions to student learning, and appreciate celebrating her accomplishments together with our Windsor School partners.”
