Family Event Returns To Windsor Park

WINDSOR, CT — A yearly kids fishing derby is returning to Windsor this week.

The Windsor Jaycees will host the Sheila Schmidt Fishing Derby from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 5, at Washington Park, according to the organization.

The catch-and-release event is open to kids of all ages. Poles and bait will be provided, the Windsor Jaycees said.

The Windsor Jaycees have been part of the community since 1967 and organize several local service projects and events, including the Shad Derby Parade and Festival, Christmas tree sales and the Sheila Schmidt Family Fishing Night, according to the group’s website.

The event flyer lists Washington Park in Windsor as the location, with a 6 p.m. start time.
