Man Pleads Guilty to Windsor, Hartford Bank Robberies

A man pleaded guilty to committing three bank robberies from June to Sept. 2016.

HARTFORD, CT — A Manchester man pleaded guilty to committing three bank robberies in Windsor and Hartford in the summer and early autumn of 2016.

Arthur Thompson, 59, pleaded guilty in Hartford Superior Court Thursday to two counts of first-degree robbery and a single count of second-degree robbery. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, according to judicial records.

Thompson pleaded guilty to robbing the Citizens Bank on Trumbull Street in Hartford on June 3, 2016, and twice robbing the Santander Bank in the Windsor Shopping Center on Route 159, on Aug. 23 and Sept. 27, 2016.

In both Windsor robberies, the suspect, later identified as Thompson, fled the scene on a small BMX-style bicycle.
