Teen Mugged 99-Year-Old Woman Delivering Cookies in Windsor: Police

The man mugged the woman while she was delivering treats to the senior center.

A 17-year-old has been charged with mugging a 99-year-old woman who was on her way to deliver cookies to a community center.

Police tell the Windsor Patch the 17-year-old male was arrested earlier today at around 10:30 a.m.

The woman was bringing homemade Christmas cookies to the LP Wilson Community Center on Dec. 17 in Windsor when a man knocked her down from behind and stole her purse. She was not injured and did not require medical attention.

Police declined to comment further, and a Windsor Recreation employee directed questions to police on Thursday.

Windsor Police obtained a warrant for the juvenile’s arrest issued by Superior Court, Juvenile Matters in Hartford. Pursuant to Connecticut General Statute, the juvenile’s identity was not released. Any juvenile arrested under the age of 17 does not have their name publicly revealed.

The juvenile was charged with third-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny and assault of an elderly person and will be taken to Juvenile Detention Hartford to await an appearance in Superior Court, Juvenile Matters in Hartford.
