More College Accomplishments By Windsor Students: Spring 2023

WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted in the coming weeks.

American International College, Springfield MA

• Frances Arnold and Brianna Westberry, both of Windsor, were among 495 students named to the Dean's List for the spring 2023 semester. Dean's List students attend full-time and have achieved a 3.3 to 4.0 GPA.

Cedarville University, Cedarville OH

• Kaitlyn Kijak, from Windsor, graduated from Cedarville University in spring 2023 with an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• More than 300 Eastern Connecticut State University students were recognized for scholarly excellence at the conclusion of the spring 2023 semester. Given by academic departments across the University, the recognitions included induction into more than a dozen academic honor societies, scholarship awards and departmental distinctions. Among those honored were four Windsor residents. Victoria Daye, a junior who majors in health sciences, was inducted into the Phi Theta Delta health honors society at the Health Sciences Awards and Honors Society Induction on April 19 in the J. Eugene Smith Library, and also received the Outstanding Junior Award at the Health Sciences ceremony. Kevana Simpson, a sophomore who majors in communication, received the Excellence in Radio Award at the Department of Communication's Celebration of Excellence on April 26 in the Fine Arts Instructional Center Concert Hall. Yetsael Medina-Ayala, a junior who majors in computer science, was inducted into the Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) international honor society for computing and information disciplines on April 26 in the J. Eugene Smith Library. Andrew Goldberg, a senior who majors in women's and gender studies and art, was honored at the Lavender Graduation award ceremony on April 14 for their academic achievements.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY

• On May 20, 2023, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute awarded a total of 1,988 degrees - 152 doctoral degrees, 390 master's degrees, and 1,446 bachelor's degrees - to 1,957 students, some of whom earned multiple degrees. Gwyneth Anne Bartolome of Windsor graduated with a BS in psychological science, and Brendan Chan of Windsor graduated with a BS in biomedical engineering.

Siena College, Loudonville NY

• Nicholas Lodge of Windsor has been named to the Siena College Dean's List for the spring 2023 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student's grade point average for the semester must be between 3.5 and 3.89.
