St. Gabriel School Honors Volunteers
Volunteers honored for their work at St. Gabriel School

On Monday, October 16th the Archdiocese of Hartford held the annual HOPES (Help our Parish Elementary Schools) dinner. This event recognizes extraordinary volunteers who support our students, teachers and faculty in making Catholic schools exceptional institutions for learning academics and the Gospel.
This year, St. Gabriel School was happy to honor Mr. & Mrs. Calavan and Mr. Dan Caruso. Mrs. Calavan has committed her time and talents to our school board and has assisted our Home and School with many school events. Mr. Calavan has taken the lead in many maintenance projects around the school, including repairing classroom cubbies and fixing a portion of ceiling in the basement. Mr. Caruso was also honored for his hard work and dedication coaching the St. Gabriel School Varsity Boys Basketball team over the past two years, as well as serving as a member of the school board.
The gathering included pastors, principals and volunteer leaders representing several school constituencies. Honorees from each Catholic School were presented the 2017 St. John Neumann Award for Volunteer Service, in recognition of outstanding service to Catholic education at the parish school level.
St. Gabriel School thanks all our volunteers for all the work they do for our school.
