Students from St. Gabriel School were given the honor to perform ‘God Bless America’ on Tuesday, May 13th during the 7th inning stretch at the New Britain Stadium where the New Britain Rock Cats were playing against the Portland Sea Dogs (Maine). St. Gabriel School’s music teacher, Mrs. Cowles, worked with students over the last month to prepare them for this event. It was a great spring night and over 30 students came out to support the Rock Cats and to share their pride in St. Gabriel School! To make the night even more exciting, Juliana (gr. 2) got to host MC during the 6th inning, giving play by play updates for the Rock Cats, Joey & Faith (gr. 1 & gr. 3) took to the field after the 7th inning to run the bases, and Morgan (gr. 3) put his glove to use catching 2 foul balls! The night ended on a high note for all, with the Rock Cats beating the Sea Dogs 4-2!
