St. Gabriel School Students make their First Holy Communion

On May 2, 2014, St. Gabriel School’s 2nd grade class, along with CCD students from St. Gabriel Parish, joyously celebrated the important Sacrament of First Holy Communion.  First Communion is considered one of the holiest and most important occasions in a Roman Catholic person's life. It is the first time that a person receives the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.  Most Catholic children receive their First Communion when they're 7 or 8 years old, because this is considered the age of reason.  To prepare for First Holy Communion, students must have received the Sacrament of Baptism and Reconciliation.  These students completed their Sacrament of Reconciliation together in February of this year.

Students from St. Gabriel School who received the Blessed Sacrament of First Holy Communion on Saturday, May 2, 2014 either at St. Gabriel Church or St. Joseph Church, included Ashley Anderson, Elena Anderson, Daniel Burgeson, Ian Cargile, Rylan Caroon, Mackenzie Farrelly, Kathy Figueroa, Simon Heffelfinger, Grace Jeffery, Trinity Jones, Olivia Karlowicz, Matthew Legg, Ben Owen, Aiden Pigeon, Joseph Quinn, Gabriel Sandoval, Samantha Steele, Lindsay Truong and Rihanna Theroux-Chartier.
