Valedictorian, Salutatorian Named at Windsor High School
The top scholars will give addresses at the high school's graduation ceremony.

WINDSOR, CT — Windsor High School has announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2017.
Amanda Schwartz is class valedictorian. She is a member of the National Honor Society and French Honor Society, and has received numerous awards, including the Yale Book Award, RIT Computing Medal, Poetry Out Loud School Finalist and is recognized as a AP Scholar.
Her leadership roles include National Honor Society President, WHS varsity girls swimming and diving team captain, WHS varsity girls tennis team captain, Co-Captain of FIRST Robotics Team Paragon 571, member of the WHS Leadership Council, Big Sister Mentoring Program and was also chosen by school administration for the HOBY CT 2015 Leadership Conference.

Amanda’s extracurricular activities include Windsor Youth Theater, Girl Scouts, Jazz Dance, Outdoors Club, and Debate Team. She has also volunteered as an office worker for the Dean of Students, Student Ambassador, Father-Daughter Camp Closing, student volunteer at LP Wilson Community Center, and a tournament volunteer at the Travelers Championship.
She will attend Georgia Tech in the fall.

Danielle Gozzo is class salutatorian. She has received numerous awards, including an AP Scholar with Honor Award, Wesleyan University Book Award, RJT Creativity and Innovation Award, and Daughters of the American Revolution Award for Outstanding Work in American History. Danielle also won the HBRA Student Home Design Competition.
Some of her extracurricular activities include participating in the Connecticut Kid Governor Program, editor of the school newspaper, and President of the Landscape Architecture and Horticulture Club, among others.
Danielle’s community service activities include volunteering at DoSomething.org, River Ridge Senior Living Community, the YMCA Pizza with Santa Event, and the Rockville Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast Event.
She will attend Wesleyan University in the fall.
