Windsor Food Collection for People & Pets at Aug. 26th Concert
Bring food to Concert on the Green to donate to Windsor Food & Fuel Bank and Windsor Pet Food Pantry.

Concertgoers at this Thursday, Aug. 26’s Windsor Concert on the Green can bring nonperishable food that will be donated to the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank and the Windsor Pet Food Pantry at the Windsor Animal Shelter. From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Rock Solid Alibi will play live Rock & Roll at the Windsor Town Hall lawn on Broad St. as part of weekly free concert series presented by First Town Downtown. Volunteers will accept donations of food and funds at tables near the stage.
This community food drive is coordinated by Joyce and Dick Armstrong of Windsor, who also are one of that evening’s concert sponsors. “Time after time, Windsor residents have stepped forward to support one another, especially those who are in need of assistance with food or energy,” explains Joyce Armstrong, a member of the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank’s volunteer-run Board. “Dick and I believe that if we make it really easy for people to bring food items to a free concert, then many of our neighbors will help.”
The Windsor Food & Fuel Bank’s most needed items include peanut butter and jelly, spaghetti sauce & pasta, macaroni and cheese, canned meats, crackers, cereal, baked beans, canned vegetables, canned fruit, fruit juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate, and condiments such as ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise. The nonprofit organization also seeks personal care items such as paper towels, facial tissues, toilet paper, and diapers and baby wipes.
The Windsor Pet Food Pantry seeks small bags of dry cat and dog food, and canned pet food.
