Windsor High School Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps Receives Distinguished Unit Award after First Year
The 2015-16 DUA recognizes those AFJROTC units that have performed above and beyond normal expectations

Windsor High School is pleased to announce that its Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (AFJROTC) unit has been awarded the Distinguished Unit Award (DUA). The DUA is awarded by the AFJROTC Headquarters, located at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. Only 37 percent of all AFJROTC units worldwide have received this distinction. In Connecticut, only two of the five units have earned this honor.
“This is a prestigious award for any unit, but it is a remarkable achievement for a unit in its first year of operation,” said Windsor High School Principal Russell Sills.
The 2015-16 DUA recognizes those AFJROTC units that have performed above and beyond normal expectations and that have distinguished themselves through outstanding service to their school and community while meeting the AFJROTC mission of "Developing Citizens of Character, Dedicated to Serving Their Nation and Community."
