Windsor High School Art Students Attend Workshop at UConn

Artwork on display at the annual Juried Student Art Show on May 31.

Windsor High School students in Drawing 2 and Drawing 3 honors Art classes were invited to attend an all day workshop on Friday, April 21, 2017, at the University of Connecticut, sponsored by Counterproof Press.

Students began the day working with UConn students and professors from the Printmaking Department, learning about printmaking techniques and having the opportunity to design and create their own prints on the press. Students then received a tour of campus, viewing many of the public art projects and large scale sculptures on the grounds of UConn. Students ended their day at the Benton Museum on campus touring their permanent collection and viewing their current exhibits, where they completed sketching and reflection exercises.

To see the work of these and other talented WHS students, please attend the annual Juried Student Art Show on Wednesday, May 31st, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the WHS Library.
