Elena Peters, Jeyna Doshi and Ryan Crisanti Recognized as Top Scholars
Windsor Public Schools is proud to announce the WHS Class of 2016 Top Scholars.
Elena Peters is Valedictorian for the Windsor High School Class of 2016. Elena is a member of the French Honor Society and National Honor Society. She also received the Yale Book Award and was recognized as a National Merit Semi-finalist. Some of her extracurricular activities include the Windsor High School Tech Club (founding member), Pals (Regular Ed/Special Ed Club), Poetry Out Loud Competition (Second Place), and a Violinist in the Public School Orchestras. Elena’s community service and volunteer activities include tutoring at the local public library, volunteering at the Windsor Historical Society, the Hartford Project (Inner-city 5 day Mission trip), Feeding the Hungry in Bushnell Park, Assistant Vacation Bible School (VBS) teacher, and serves as Assistant Head Organizer for Hailey Strong for a Paws. She will attend Grove City College in the fall.
Jeyna Doshi is Salutatorian for the Windsor High School Class of 2016. She is a member of the National Honor Society and was recognized in the National Merit Scholarship Competition as a Commended Scholar. She received the Harvard Book Award and the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award. She was also recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction. Some of her extracurricular activities include Varsity Soccer, Lacrosse, Tennis, Simmons Premier Soccer Club, Action Club (social justice awareness organization), Outdoors Club, Math Team, Pals Club, violinist and pianist. Jeyna’s leadership roles include WHS Math Team Captain, Soccer Team Captain, and Co-President of the WHS Pals Club (works with students in special education). She is also involved in the Union Street Tavern Trot, Hailey Strong for a Paws Organization, and Feeding Children Everywhere among others. She will attend Harvard University in the fall.

Ryan Crisanti was named Class Scholar for the Windsor High School Class of 2016. He is a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and is recognized as an AP Scholar with Honor. He has received the Brown University Book Award, won the RIT Innovation & Creativity Award, and received the American Legion Boys State Civic Award. Ryan is an active member of the String Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble and has won numerous awards including the 2014 & 2015 CT All-State Jazz Bassist and the 2014 & 2015 CT Northern Region Jazz Bassist. Ryan’s leadership roles include WHS Baseball Captain and Cross-Country Captain. He is also a USSF Certifed Referee. He will attend the University of Connecticut in the fall.
