Windsor Just Misses Top 10 in Boys Basketball Poll

The Warriors enter the semifinals of the CCC tournament with an 18-4 overall record.

WINDSOR, CT — As Agent 86 Maxwell Smart used to say, "Missed it by that much!" Windsor High School missed out on the top 10 of the weekly boys basketball poll of media members by just three votes.

The Warriors (18-4 overall) face Simsbury in the CCC tournament semifinals Tuesday night.

East Catholic High School (22-0) was once again tabbed first on all 18 ballots in the latest weekly balloting.

Here are the top 10, plus all other programs receiving votes, with records (including conference tournaments) through Feb. 26:

  2. Notre Dame-Fairfield (21-0)
  3. Sacred Heart (19-2)

  5. Hamden (19-3)
  6. Guilford (20-1)
  7. Danbury (18-3)

  9. Holy Cross (17-4)
  10. Waterford (20-2)

Also receiving votes: Windsor (18-4), Hillhouse (16-6), Simsbury (20-2), Prince Tech (18-2), East Hampton (21-0), East Lyme (19-3), Trinity Catholic (17-4), Notre Dame-West Haven (16-6), Crosby (14-7), Waterbury Career (15-6), St. Bernard (20-2).
