Superintendent of Schools Craig Cooke released the following statement on the incident: "Early this morning, Wednesday, November 28th, a Windsor youth who attends school outside of the Town of Windsor was approached by a car with teen-aged passengers at a bus stop at Ford Road and Philip Henry Circle. We believe the teens were from another town. A teen approached the student and demanded the student’s cell phone and money. The incident did become physical, however, neighbors quickly intervened and the student is ok. A similar incident occurred on Monday in Wethersfield at a bus stop with one student.

"The majority of Windsor Public Schools’ bus stops have multiple students waiting for the bus.
It is a good time to discuss bus stop safety with your student and staying at stops that have
multiple students. Windsor Police are directing additional attention to morning bus stops.
We will be discussing bus stop safety with our students in school.

"If you have any questions, please contact my office or our Safety, Security, and Residency
Officer Kelvan Kearse."
