Windsor Lions Club DriveThru Food Collection
Bring Food to Saturday, August 7th Event for Windsor Food & Fuel Bank

On Saturday, August 7th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Windsor Lions Club will hold a Drive-Thru Non-Contact Food Drive to benefit the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank. The collection effort will take place rain or shine in the parking lot of L.P. Wilson Community Center at 599 Matianuck Ave. in Windsor, where the food bank is located.
The public is invited to bring a bag of non-perishable food (no glass containers please) and drive their donations to the Windsor Lions’ second annual collection drive for the local food bank. People will stay in their cars and Windsor Lions will unload them, contact-free! Items especially needed at this time include canned chicken; baked goods, coffee/tea, canned pasta, baked beans, condiments, crackers, cereal, and canned fruits and vegetables, as well as personal hygiene items. Donations of cash and checks also will be accepted at this collection drive. Checks can made out to: The Lions Club Charitable Foundation of Windsor (please note WFFB in the memo line) and 100 percent of your donation will be donated to the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank. Credit card donations also can be made at www.WindsorFoodBank.org
Windsor Lions Sharon Gauthier and Debbie Delucia are coordinating this important service project to meet the present and future needs of the community. They are working with the full support of their Lions Club, with all donations of food, toiletries, and funds, going to the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank.

Lion Sharon Gauthier explained that since early 2020 at the start of the pandemic, the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank has served twice as many clients as they usually see. Gauthier, who also serves on the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank Board of Directors, continued, “Even now, as Connecticut opens up, many in our community still face food insecurity.”
The Windsor Lions have served the needs of the Windsor community for more than 70 years. For more information about the Windsor Lions Club, or to become a member of this organization, please contact Membership Chair Debbie Delucia at 860-836-0280.
