Windsor Man Charged In Crash With State Trooper

A Windsor man was charged after he allegedly struck a police cruiser on I-84.

WINDSOR, CT - An 18-year-old Windsor man was charged following a crash with a state trooper on I-84 Tuesday night. Chad Taylor, 18, was charged with failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, traveling too fast for conditions, operating a motor vehicle with unsafe tires and failure to wear a safety belt, the Journal-Inquirer reported.

The trooper had parked in the right shoulder behind a disabled vehicle and a tow truck with his emergency lights activated in the area of exit 59 in East Hartford.

Another vehicle traveling in the right lane from I-384 west to I-84 west lost control and veered into the right shoulder, police said. It collided with the police cruiser. Both vehicles were disabled and had to be towed from the scene.
