Windsor Man Charged in February Murder Case

He is being held in lieu of $1 million bond in connection with a shooting death in Hartford.

HARTFORD, CT — A Windsor resident was arrested Thursday in connection with the February slaying of a man in the capital city.

Anthony Austin, 26, was charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and criminal possession of a firearm. Bond was set at $1 million.

He is charged in connection with the murder of Chace Hernandez, 27, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds in his car on Feb. 18, and died shortly thereafter at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

Austin was found hiding in a second-floor apartment on Burnside Avenue in East Hartford Thursday, and was taken into custody without incident, police said.
