Windsor Man Charged In Phony License Plate Scheme: Report
A Windsor man faces charges that he created and sold fake licenses plates.

WINDSOR, CT - A Windsor man has been arrested and charged with selling fake license plates, according to the Journal-Inquirer. Gerald Scully, 56, was charged with two counts each of first-degree forgery and fourth-degree larceny, 11 counts of conspiracy to interfere with police, and 12 counts of conspiring to improperly use a license plate.
Scully allegedly set up several businesses in order to get transporter plates from Washington state. He would then loan or sell the plates for up to $3,000, often to drivers who had warrants out for their arrest or DUI convictions and couldn't legitimately obtain plates.

Scully was released on $35,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court Jan. 17. Read the full story in the Journal-Inquirer.
